Newport Parkrun takes place at 9am every Saturday and is free of charge. The route is a 2 and a half lap course around Tredegar House grounds. Don't forget your barcode!
More testing than the flat out and back along the canal, this route is a straightforward run from 14 Locks Canal Centre up Mountain Road, towards Twmbarlwm. Everyone sets off at the same time, heads out for 25 minutes, then turns around and aims to get back at the same time. It's got a few hills going out, but that should mean you get to enjoy them the other way when coming back!
Hello everyone! Good running on Wednesday, sorry for the delay in getting these results to you!
I've attached the results below as a PDF. Any queries, let me know :-)
Last year, I Had the pleasure of talking to someone at parkrun who was in a similar position to me the previous year. He had started running in the Spring and was due to run his first big race, the Cardiff Half Marathon, in just over a week’s time.
After a surprise success in the ballot back in February, I had my flights booked and ready before leaving for home and telling my wife. I wasn't running back in February, still in recovery after a "running repair" and getting a place in the GNR was all the inspiration that I needed to get me back on my feet.
I read so many articles and bits of advice saying that you should “run by feel” and “pace yourself with how you are feeling on the day”. This doesn’t work too well for me – as I’ve previously mentioned, I’m more of a “run by numbers” sort.
With the success of the recent “Be More Dog” advent, and the Sketchers “Go Run”, I thought that Animals warranted some investigation. If you haven’t seen the ads, click the links below – at least you’ll enjoy something from this post!
I’m going to make a rather big statement here – runner’s partners and families must be about the most understanding people in existence.
This year, I put my name in the hat for a few events, and two of them have been successful (so far). Last weekend, I was lucky enough to be allowed to run in the National Lottery Anniversary Run, finishing on the track in the Olympic stadium.
