New Life Member

Those of you who were not at the Lliswerry Olympics on 29th August may not know that the Club has awarded Life Membership to Neil Chipper.

This was awarded in recognition of his 30 uninterrupted years of membership, Neil being one of the original runners who attended the first ever Lliswerry training session in 1985. Neil has been an 'ever present' since that time running thousands of miles in hundreds of races in the maroon and white vest. His favourite race was Nos Galan when it used to be run at midnight. A great runner, having a 2hr 44min marathon to his name, he continues to turn out in Gwent League and LCL races.

Neil was nominated for Life Membership by the only other current member at that meeting in 1985, John Hill, a life member himself.
